The Pyrenean Monte Perdido was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1997 for its wealth of culture and nature. This cross border territory includes the municipalities of Torla, Fanlo, Tella-Sin, Pu\u00e9rtolas, Bielsa and Broto, on the Spanish side, and the valleys of G\u00e8dre and Gavarnie on the French side. The Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park and the Parc National des Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es both contribute to this heritage site. <\/span><\/p>\n UNESCO highlights its geological formations, its deep canyons and spectacular circuses, as well as its lakes, caves, mountains and forests.
