Location
The Sobrarbe region sits in the middle of the most rugged and spectacular stretch of the Pyrenean mountain range. The high peaks of Posets and Monte Perdido look down over its breathtaking, unspoilt territory. It is situated in the northern reaches of Huesca province, bordering with France above it, Ribagorza to its east, Somontano to the south and the Alto Gallego to the west.
With a National Park and two Natural Parks to its name, Sobrarbe is considrered one of the most protected and best conserved areas in the whole of the Pyrenees. Although nature is its main attribute, visitors are pleasantly surprised and often delighted by its villages and rich cultural heritage.
Thanks to the improving Transpirenaica link, its valleys are ever-closer to each other and the Aragonese Pyrenees can be crossed in a day.
